Empathy

Taylor did the cutest thing the other day that made my heart melt. I have a really bad cold sore b/c I got too vicious while eating one day and bit down on my inside lip. Paul insists that the only way for it to heal is for him to apply salt directly to the open wound. While Paul was doing this for me at the dinner table, Taylor was looking on as she sat in her high chair. As he applied the salt with a Qtip, I started screaming in pain with tears nearly starting to well up in my eyes. Out of the corner of my eye, I see Taylor looking over at me with concern and then all of a sudden, she bursts into tears and yells "Uuuuuummmmmaaaaa!!!" ("mom" in Korean). Her look of concern for my suffering seemed so genuine and pure--it really made happy. She loves me so much--it's an amazing feeling.
