These were the words uttered by Paul one early morning after Taylor woke up for the 3rd hour in a row. Continuous sleep is an impossibility when you have a newborn. The ideal scenario is getting sleep every 2 hours. The doctor told us that it's ok for the baby to sleep for as much as 3 or at most, 4 hours at a time, but really, 2 hours is ideal in between feedings. This past week has been hard as Taylor seems to spend the daytime sleeping in 3 hour spans and come night time, she wakes up every hour. Add on the fact that nursing takes almost one hour each time--to say that this is the least amount of sleep I've ever had is an understatement. Surprisingly though, I'm surviving -- call it supermom strength, I'm not sure, but somehow I am able to wake up to feed her and in the day, I am still somewhat alert. Starting to feel a bit of a head cold coming on though...
Tomorrow, Paul returns to work. It will be hard not having him around during the day but thankfully, I will be distracted next week since I plan to stay with my parents in LA for the week. I'm looking forward to seeing some of you during the week if you're able to swing by!
Here are some more pictures from the week:
